- 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade
- 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak thinly sliced
- 1 large green bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 large yellow onion thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 8 ounces provolone cheese sliced
- 4 ounces American cheese or cheese whiz optional
- 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
- Marinara sauce for serving optional
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment.
Sauté onions and peppers until soft (7-8 min). Add garlic for 30 seconds. Remove.
Cook sliced steak with seasonings until just done (2-3 min).
Roll dough into 14×10 inch rectangle on floured surface.
Layer down center: half provolone, steak, vegetables, remaining cheese.
Fold dough over filling, pinch seams to seal.
Transfer to baking sheet seam-side down.
Brush with egg wash, cut slits for venting, add sesame seeds if desired.
Bake 20-25 minutes until golden.
Rest 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
