Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set it aside.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg. Customize the recipe by adding nuts or top with caramel sauce.
