Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set it aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Let the cake cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes
