Pastry and Filling
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 each egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting) Use as needed

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square, followed by a spoonful of chopped strawberries.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket, sealing the edges with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar for presentation. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Enhance flavors with lemon zest. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze unbaked for up to 2 months.
