Method

Preparation
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the meat is browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the marinara sauce, coating the beef mixture. Add in the dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. While the sauce simmers, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside, mixing in a touch of oil to prevent sticking.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta and cream cheese, mixing until creamy.
Assembly
  1. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti as a base. Top it with half of the meat sauce followed by the ricotta mixture. Repeat the layers and finish with mozzarella cheese on top.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the pie for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and the cheese is lightly browned.
  2. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Slice into wedges.
