Ingredients

Main Protein
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef or Turkey Brown in a skillet until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Ground turkey is a leaner option.
Starch/Pasta
  • 8 oz Spaghetti Cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Gluten-free pasta works as an alternative.
Liquids/Dairy
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Incorporate into the meat after browning for maximum flavor.
Seasoning/Spice Blend
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Mix with the meat and sauce for an aromatic boost.
Aromatics & Vegetables
  • 1 cup Chopped Onions Sauté with the meat for flavor.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Sauté with the meat; too much can overpower the dish.
Optional Finishing Ingredients
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten and added for binding.
  • 1.5 cups Mozzarella Cheese Shredded, for creaminess.
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated, for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned, around 7-10 minutes. Break into small pieces for even cooking.
  3. Add chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir well to combine. Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, mix the cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce mixture. Add beaten eggs, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until well coated.
  6. Spread the mixture into a greased pie or round baking dish evenly. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing into wedges for serving.
  2. Pair with a simple salad or garlic bread. Enjoy with red wine or sparkling water.

Notes

Customize the pie with fresh herbs or vegetables. Add more cheese on top for a delicious finish.
