  • 2 pounds large shrimp (21-24 count), peeled and deveined Fresh or thawed frozen shrimp can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning Plus 1 tablespoon of salt for cooking water.
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise Can be substituted with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter Plus more to grease the pan.
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded medium cheddar cheese

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 2 1/2-quart casserole dish with butter.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add Old Bay seasoning.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn opaque, about 30 seconds. Drain and transfer the shrimp to a bowl.
  4. Add mayonnaise, garlic powder, and pepper to the shrimp, stirring to coat evenly.
  5. Incorporate the cheeses and mix again.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish.
Baking
  1. Melt butter and mix it with the bread crumbs, then sprinkle this over the shrimp mixture.
  2. Bake uncovered for 13-15 minutes until the center reaches 145°F.
  3. Broil for 1-2 minutes to brown the crumbs on top.
  4. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve in the casserole dish for a rustic look. Pair with a fresh salad or crusty bread. Enhance flavor with lemon juice.
