For the stuffing
  • 1 loaf Cornbread Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 lb Browned sausage Choose your preferred type of sausage.
  • 1 cup Onions Diced.
  • 1 cup Celery Chopped.
  • 2 cups Broth Chicken or vegetable broth.
  • 2 tbsp Herbs Fresh sage or thyme recommended.
  • 1/2 cup Butter For sautéing.
  • to taste Salt Adjust according to preference.
  • to taste Pepper Adjust according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then add diced onions and celery. Cook until soft (about 5 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, crumble the cornbread and add browned sausage, sautéed vegetables, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in enough broth to moisten the mixture.
  5. Transfer the stuffing into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is crispy and golden.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

Flavor enhancement options include adding apple cider or dried cranberries. Can customize by substituting sausage or adding vegetables.
