  • 2 cups milk Use whole milk for richness or a plant-based alternative.
  • salt and pepper Add to taste.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle in the flour and stir continuously for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring no lumps form, and cook until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Let the gravy simmer on low for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve hot over warm biscuits.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of cayenne or mixing in sautéed onions or peppers. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
