  • 1 lb sausage (Italian or smoked)
  • 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (mixed colors)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
Sauces and Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional) Add for extra heat

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Remove the sausage and set it aside. In the same skillet, add the onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the cabbage wilts.
  4. Return the sausage to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, mixing well. If using, add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  5. Cook everything together for another 2-3 minutes until heated through. Serve hot.

Notes

Tip: Enhance flavor by adding ginger or lemon juice. Customize with other vegetables like carrots or snap peas. Serve with a sprinkle of green onions or sesame seeds for added texture.
