  • 1 lb sausage (Italian or smoked)
  • 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (mixed colors)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce and Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sausage and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add chopped cabbage and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until veggies are tender.
  6. Return the sausage to the skillet and add soy sauce and red pepper flakes. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed before serving.

Notes

Enhance flavor with a squeeze of lime juice before serving. Customize by adding your favorite vegetables, like broccoli or snap peas. Serve with sesame seeds sprinkled on top for added crunch.
