Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the crushed Oreos and white chocolate chips if using.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra chocolate flavor, add chocolate chips to the dough. Experiment with different types of crushed cookies for unique flavors. Serve these cookies warm; they taste even better fresh out of the oven!
