Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 slices Sourdough bread Freshly sliced
  • 1 slice Cheddar cheese Or substitute with mozzarella or provolone if desired
  • 1 tablespoon Pesto Use homemade or store-bought
  • 1 tablespoon Butter For spreading on the bread

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread a layer of pesto.
  3. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the pesto.
  4. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the skillet.
  2. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Remove from skillet, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding garlic powder or red pepper flakes to the pesto. Customize with ingredients like spinach or thinly sliced tomatoes.
