  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into strips
  • 2 pieces bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For browning the beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Brown the beef strips on all sides.
  2. In the crock pot, combine the browned beef, sliced bell peppers, sliced onion, beef broth, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  2. If you want a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with a bit of water and stir it into the pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  3. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Enhance flavor by adding fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro before serving. Customize with your favorite vegetables such as broccoli or snap peas for extra crunch.
