  • 2 tbsp Butter Enhances creaminess; add more if desired.
  • 1 medium Onion (Chopped) Yellow or sweet preferred.
  • 3 cloves Garlic (Minced) For flavor.
  • 1 cup Orzo Pasta Main carbohydrate; other small pasta can be substituted.
  • 2 cups Low-Sodium Chicken Broth Makes the dish flavorful.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Can substitute with half and half for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated) Preferred for flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (Chopped) For garnish.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced chicken to the pot and sprinkle Cajun seasoning, cooking until browned and cooked through.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic, allowing to soften for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the orzo pasta to the pot, stirring to combine with the chicken mixture.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, bringing to a simmer, and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the orzo is tender.
  6. Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, mixing until creamy.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, adjusting to your taste.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve in a large bowl or individual plates, and sprinkle with extra Parmesan. Pairs well with crusty bread or a fresh side salad.
