New York Style Cheesecake

Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the cheesecake filling
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 packages (8-ounce) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well mixed. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust.
Making the Filling
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until fluffy.
  2. Gradually add granulated sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Slowly add sour cream and flour, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  2. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for 1 hour.
  3. Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled with fresh fruit topping or chocolate sauce. Slice generously for sharing.
