Ingredients

Pizza Base
  • 1 piece pizza dough (store-bought or homemade) Your choice of store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For brushing the dough
Toppings
  • 8 oz hot sausage (Italian or your choice), cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce or pizza sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey To drizzle on top
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For extra spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional) For extra flavor
  • to taste fresh arugula or spinach (optional) For topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  3. Brush the dough with olive oil and pre-bake it in the oven for 5 minutes, until it begins to firm up but isn’t fully cooked.
Topping and Baking
  1. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the pre-baked crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  2. Evenly distribute the cooked sausage over the pizza, followed by the crumbled feta cheese.
  3. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Finishing Touches
  1. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Drizzle the honey evenly over the top of the pizza.
  2. If desired, top the pizza with fresh arugula or spinach. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

Enhance the flavor by adding fresh herbs like basil or oregano. Customize with different meats or vegetables according to your taste. For a unique twist, consider trying different cheeses like goat cheese or provolone.
