Ingredients
  

Main Protein
  • 12-16 oz Kielbasa Slice into coins before cooking. Ensure it’s cooked through but not overcooked.
Starch/Pasta
  • 12-16 oz Pasta Shells Cook according to package instructions in salted water. Reserve a cup of pasta water.
Seasoning/Spice Blend
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Mix along with onion powder and smoked paprika.
  • 1 tsp Onion powder Mix along with garlic powder and smoked paprika.
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika Mix along with garlic powder and onion powder.
Liquids/Dairy
  • ½ cup BBQ Sauce Choose a BBQ sauce you love for the best flavor.
  • 2 tbsp Honey Use in combination with BBQ sauce.
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar Add to the sauce for extra sweetness.
Aromatics & Vegetables
  • 1 tbsp Butter or Oil Used for sautéing. Olive oil can work well as an alternative.
Optional Finishing Ingredients
  • as needed Water To loosen the sauce if it’s too thick.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In the same pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter or oil over medium heat. Add the kielbasa coins and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and heated through.
  2. Lower the heat and stir in BBQ sauce, honey, brown sugar, and spice blend. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until well combined.
  3. Add the cooked pasta shells to the kielbasa and sauce mix, and toss gently for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. If the sauce feels too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water gradually until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt or additional spices as needed.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with extra BBQ sauce if desired.

Notes

Enhance flavor by adding chili powder for heat. Customize with seasonal vegetables for added nutrition, and serve with crusty bread for a delightful meal experience.
