Homemade Christmas Jam

Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 2 cups cranberries Fresh or frozen, thawed before use.
  • 2 cups strawberries Hulled and chopped.
  • 2 cups raspberries Fresh or frozen, thawed before use.
Flavor Enhancers
  • Zest of 1 orange orange zest
  • Zest of 1 lemon lemon zest
  • 1 cup sugar Can be substituted with honey or maple syrup for a healthier version.
  • 1/4 cup water
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground clove

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, strawberries, raspberries, sugar, water, and spices.
  2. Cook over medium heat until the mixture starts to simmer.
Cooking
  1. Reduce heat and let it cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally until the fruit breaks down and the mixture thickens.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the citrus zest.
  3. Pour hot jam into sterilized jars and seal.
  4. Let it cool, then refrigerate or gift as desired.

Notes

Serve in small jars for a lovely presentation. This jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or frozen for up to 6 months.
