Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
- Remove the pork chops and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onions and garlic; sauté until softened.
- Stir in the apple butter and mix well.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some apple butter mixture over the top.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh thyme if desired before serving.
Notes
Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth. For customization, swap apple butter for peach or cranberry sauce.
