  • 4 pcs pork chops Lean cuts are recommended.
  • 1 cup apple butter Homemade or store-bought.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing the pork chops.
  • 1 pcs onion, sliced Yellow or white onion works best.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Freshly minced for best flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.
  • Fresh thyme (optional) For garnish before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Remove the pork chops and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the onions and garlic; sauté until softened.
  5. Stir in the apple butter and mix well.
  6. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some apple butter mixture over the top.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through.
  8. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired before serving.

Notes

Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth. For customization, swap apple butter for peach or cranberry sauce.
