Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy) Your choice of sausage flavor
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 10 oz can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) For heat
  • to taste Salt and black pepper
  • to taste Fresh parsley or green onions (chopped for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  3. Stir in the cooked sausage, Rotel, sharp cheddar, and mozzarella cheese. Mix well to combine.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  2. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions, and serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

Serve the dip in an attractive baking dish to make it the star of the table. Plan for about 1/4 cup per person to ensure everyone gets their fill. This dip can be made ahead of time and frozen. Allow to cool completely before freezing, and reheat to serve.
