  • 1 whole whole chicken (approximately 4-5 lbs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon lemon (optional, for stuffing)
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for stuffing)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a seasoning rub.
  4. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin for more flavor.
  5. If using, place lemon and fresh herbs inside the cavity of the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket, breast side down.
  2. Cook for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken to breast side up and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  3. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight in the seasoning rub. Feel free to customize the spices based on your taste preferences. Consider serving with a fresh herb garnish for added visual appeal.
