  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or Gruyère) Use your favorite cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, onion soup mix, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Form the mixture into meatballs and place them in the Crockpot.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the meatballs.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  2. About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the meatballs and cover to allow the cheese to melt.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with bread or over rice.
  2. Present the meatballs on a beautiful platter with fresh herbs for garnish.
  3. Pair them with crusty bread or serve over rice for a complete meal.
  4. Enjoy with a glass of red wine or sparkling water.

Notes

Enhance the flavor with a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Customize the cheese by trying different varieties like mozzarella or Parmesan. Serve with a side salad for added freshness. Can use frozen ground beef but thaw first for a more even mixture.
