  • 3 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs Use thighs for a richer taste.
Seasoning/Spice Blend
  • 1 bottle (18 oz) BBQ sauce Avoid using low-quality sauces.
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Water or chicken broth This adds moisture to the chicken.
Optional Finishing Ingredients
  • Green onions or cilantro Chop and sprinkle on top before serving.

Preparation
  1. Gather your ingredients to streamline the process.
  2. Place chicken in the bottom of the crockpot and ensure they are evenly spaced.
Mixture
  1. In a bowl, combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and water or broth.
  2. Stir well and pour the mixture over the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 6 hours.
  2. After cooking, shred the chicken using two forks.
Serving
  1. Serve the shredded chicken on rolls or over rice, drenching it with extra sauce.
  2. Garnish with green onions or herbs before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Can be frozen for 2-3 months. Add a splash of apple cider vinegar for a flavor boost.
