  • 1 loaf 1 loaf of brioche or challah bread
Custard Mixture

  • 1 cup 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Pinch of salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the brioche or challah bread into thick slices.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated.
  4. Arrange the soaked bread in a greased baking dish.
  5. Pour any remaining liquid over the bread and cover it with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the French toast for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and set.
  3. Sprinkle sugar over the top and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until it forms a crispy crust.
  4. Serve warm with toppings such as fresh berries, whipped cream, or maple syrup.

Notes

Enhance flavor by adding orange zest or a splash of almond extract. Customize with favorite toppings like nuts, fruits, or yogurt.
