Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots until tender but still crisp (about 5-7 minutes).
Making the Sauce
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in milk.
- Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add shredded cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the sauce. Stir until melted and smooth.
Assembly and Baking
- Combine the steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce and pour into a greased baking dish.
- If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for added crunch.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbling and golden.
