Ingredients
  

Vegetables
  • 2 cups cauliflower florets
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups carrots, sliced
Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (such as cheddar)
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Topping (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots until tender but still crisp (about 5-7 minutes).
Making the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in milk.
  2. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add shredded cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the sauce. Stir until melted and smooth.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Combine the steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce and pour into a greased baking dish.
  2. If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for added crunch.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbling and golden.
  4. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes
