Method
Searing the Chicken
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Preparing the Sauce
- In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Deglazing the Skillet
- Pour in the chicken broth to deglaze, scraping the bottom of the pan. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Adding Cream and Lemon
- Stir in the heavy cream, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Let simmer gently for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
Finishing Touches
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it well with the sauce, and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
Garnishing and Serving
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate chicken in lemon juice and herbs beforehand. Customize with veggies like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
