Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp butter (unsalted, melted)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried chives
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat olive oil and unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken pieces with salt and black pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat and add the melted butter, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and chicken broth, mixing well.
  6. Sprinkle in the paprika, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, parsley, chives, and thyme.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet and gently simmer for 5-10 minutes until coated with sauce and cooked through.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve hot.

Notes

Add additional herbs like basil or oregano for varied taste. Customize by swapping chicken for shrimp or tofu. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce.
