- Season the steak generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cooking
- Add the seasoned steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Remove the steak and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips.
- While the steak is resting, bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions until they float to the top, about 3-5 minutes.
- Drain the tortellini and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium, add butter, and sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and whole milk, stirring to combine.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese into the creamy mixture and allow it to melt and thicken for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked tortellini and sliced steak back to the skillet, tossing until well-coated with the sauce.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to warm everything through.
Serving
- Transfer the dish to serving plates and garnish with parsley, cracked black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
Add extra garlic or herbs for a flavor boost. Customize with your favorite vegetables. Serve with crusty bread for dipping in the sauce.
