Chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into cutlets or even-sized pieces)
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked or sweet paprika
Cooking Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill or chives, chopped (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Grated Parmesan cheese to taste (optional) for extra richness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until golden brown, around 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add minced garlic, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Mix in Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, parsley, and lemon juice. Stir well.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing it to a simmer.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, allowing it to simmer in the sauce for 5 more minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning and finish with grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve with extra parsley on top.

Notes

Boost flavor by adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the sauce. Customize the spice level by adjusting the red pepper flakes to your taste. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious buttery sauce.
