Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for even baking.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until fully combined and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips, being careful not to break up the strawberries too much.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm but the centers look slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
Notes
For serving: Arrange cookies on a decorative plate, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and pair with milk or coffee. Customize with nuts, spices, or different types of chocolate.
