  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Ensure they are overripe for better sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter Can use unsalted or salted butter.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate can be used.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the mashed bananas with the melted butter.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and salt.
  4. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  5. Finally, fold in the flour until just combined.
  6. Gently mix in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Enhance the flavor by adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg. Customize by swapping chocolate chips for nuts or other flavors.
