Chicken Wonton Tacos

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Filling
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, finely diced Use lean chicken for a healthier option.
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil For cooking the chicken.
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce For flavoring the chicken.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp minced fresh ginger
For the Slaw
  • 1 bag coleslaw mix
  • 4 pieces green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil For the slaw.
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce For the slaw.
  • 1 tbsp honey
For Assembly
  • 16 pieces wonton wrappers
  • to taste sweet chili sauce For serving.
  • to taste chopped cilantro For garnish.
  • to taste sesame seeds For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the diced chicken, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
Make the Slaw
  1. In a bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, green onions, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Toss until well mixed.
Fry the Wontons
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan and carefully add wonton wrappers. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Fill each wonton shell with the cooked chicken mixture, then top with the slaw.
Serve
  1. Garnish with chopped cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve with sweet chili sauce for dipping.

Notes

For an extra zesty kick, add lime juice to the slaw. Customize by swapping chicken for shredded pork or tofu. Serve on a colorful platter for an appealing presentation.
