Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Dice the potatoes and place them in a large mixing bowl. Toss them with vegetable oil, salt, and pepper to coat evenly.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, cook the smoked sausage over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until it’s slightly browned.
- Add the diced potatoes to the skillet with the sausage. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the mixture and stir everything well to ensure even coverage.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes until the potatoes are tender and slightly crispy on the edges.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and sprinkle the cheese on top. Return it to the oven for an additional 5-8 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once baked, let the dish cool for a few moments and serve warm.
Notes
Serve directly from the pan for a rustic display or transfer to a serving platter. Pair with a green salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Enjoy with a refreshing iced tea or a cold beer.
