Preparation
- Peel and slice the bananas.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the bananas and sugar. Cook until the bananas are caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
Mixing the Ice Cream Base
- In a blender, combine the caramelized bananas, heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Churning
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream churner and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Serving
- Serve and enjoy in bowls or cones.
Notes
For flavor enhancement, add a splash of rum or bourbon. Customize with chocolate chips or caramel before freezing.
