  • 12 oz pasta (such as penne or linguine)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste for spice levels
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the sliced sausage and cook over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  7. Add the cooked pasta back into the pot, mixing well to combine.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Enhance flavor by adding bell peppers or mushrooms. Customize with different cheeses or types of sausage. Serve with a sprinkle of extra Cajun seasoning for those who love spice!
