  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract for the egg mixture
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for syrup mixture
  • 1 pinch fine salt for the egg mixture

Method

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain and crumble.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Cooking
  1. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, soaking both sides.
  2. Place the soaked bread in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  3. Remove the toast and spread cream cheese on one side. Add crumbled bacon on top.
  4. Top with another piece of toast, creating a sandwich.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup and bourbon over low heat until warm.
  6. Serve the stuffed toast drizzled with the bourbon maple syrup.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a sprinkle of chopped nuts on top. Customize by swapping the bacon for sausage or adding fruits like sliced bananas. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream for a luxurious touch.
