Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt optional
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese – 2% or 4%
  • 1 egg egg optional
Toppings
  • everything seasoning
  • poppy seeds
  • sesame seeds

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add a pinch of salt for extra flavor.
  2. Make a well in the center and add cottage cheese. Mix using a fork until a chunky dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until semi-smooth. Add more flour if sticky.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 sections, roll each into a 6-7 inch log, and connect the ends to form bagels.
  5. Whisk the egg in a small bowl, add a splash of water/milk, and brush over bagels. Add toppings as desired.
Cooking
  1. Preheat air fryer to 300°F. Spray or line the basket with cooking spray or parchment paper.
  2. Place bagels in an even layer, cooking in batches if necessary. Cook for 15-17 minutes until golden.
  3. Check at 10 minutes and adjust cooking time as needed.
  4. Let the bagels cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Enhance flavor by adding garlic powder or herbs. Customize toppings to suit taste. Best served with cream cheese or avocado.
